Making a Difference Through Compassion and Action
The Up and Shine Foundation, formerly Rise and Shine Foundation, was founded by the immediate past president of the Federation of Africa Amputee Football (FAAF), the governing body of amputee football in Africa.
It was formed in 2019 out of a desire to create opportunities for young Persons with Disability (PWDs), who appeared to have been sidelined in the mainstream sports and other areas of human endeavour.
Rev. Richard Nii Amartey Adesah, a Minister of the Gospel, mooted the idea and was supported by some other executive members and prominent personalities.

Persons with Disability have been marginalized in our society, leading to waste of their precious talents that can potentially transform them and society as a whole.
In some instances, great and talented children with disability have been denied the opportunity to get education or acquire other skills, turning them into beggars and a burden on society.
Up & Shine Foundation is pooling human and other resources to address this serious societal problem, with a focus on children with disability who are the future leaders.
This is borne out of a belief that, when the younger generation is given the right orientation, the future is automatically sorted out.
